Below is this amazing documentary on Paris Opera Ballet.
In it, Aurelie Dupont was asked how her appointment from “premier danseuse” to “danseuse etoile”(highest rank) has improved her performance.
Roughly translated:
“The appointment doesn’t change anything. You are still the same dancer as before. You do not know any better, you have the same body and the same flaws. You simply rise up to the title. You assume the title of Danseuse Etoile.”
