Pause for a second and be honest with yourself:

Ever started scrolling through Instagram and it was like you entered another dimension? Just like that — 3 hours flew past and disappeared into oblivion??

It’s all very mind-boggling. It’s as if you weren’t there at all, and by this I mean consciously you weren’t there.

There’s sort of this reverse puppetry happening, where a magnetic force is controlling your fingers through the screen, keeping you locked in and scrolling mindlessly like robot.

How did this happen?
Where did the time go?

I think it all boils down to this very insidious thing called:

The Pleasure Trap…

Definition of The Pleasure Trap:

An interaction between 2 things:

  1. Your natural instinct — which is doing it’s job and trying to tell us to do the right thing

and

2. Some kind of artificial stimulation (e.g technology, drugs) that is piggybacking or hijacking that process.
